What it costs to move your car

The owner of the company drives the truck. One car on the deck, nothing stacked above it, nothing touching the paint. Straight to your door, same man at both ends. Here is what that costs, published, so you do not have to ring anyone to find out.

Why the prices are on the page

Most car transport companies make you fill in a form and wait for a call before they will tell you anything. We would rather you knew up front whether this is a $350 job or a $1,400 one. If the number does not work for you, you have lost thirty seconds instead of an afternoon.

Everything below is a real starting price for a real truck leaving a real yard in Liberty Hill. You get an exact number in writing before anything is booked, and it does not move afterwards.

Today

On the road to you within 3 hours. From $599.

Around Liberty Hill, one flat price

No mileage maths and nothing to work out on the phone. If the job is in the zone, that is the price.

Distance from Liberty HillPrice
Within 25 miles$350
25 to 50 miles$500
50 to 75 miles$700

Within 25 miles covers Liberty Hill, Leander, Cedar Park, Georgetown, Bertram, Burnet, Marble Falls, Round Rock, Jonestown, Lago Vista and Florence.

25 to 50 miles covers Austin, Pflugerville, Hutto, Taylor, Lakeway, Dripping Springs, Killeen, Copperas Cove, Salado, Lampasas, Kingsland and Horseshoe Bay.

50 to 75 miles covers San Marcos, Temple, Belton, Bastrop, Elgin, Fredericksburg, Llano, Johnson City, Buda, Kyle and Gatesville.

One thing worth reading twice

Both ends of the job have to be in the zone. Hutto is on the 25-to-50 list, but Hutto to San Antonio is not a $500 job, because it leaves the zone. That one is priced on the trip and comes out at $700.

Tell us where it is now and where it is going, and we will tell you which it is.

$350 is our minimum for any job, anywhere. A short move still takes a truck, a trailer, a driver and most of a morning.

Longer moves

Priced on the whole trip, because that is what actually happens. We drive out to you empty, carry your car, and drive home. You are not paying for a slot on somebody else’s route.

TripPrice
Anything up to about a 175-mile move$700
Beyond that, up to 600 miles of driving$1.75 a mile
Longer than thatQuoted per trip

The per-mile figure counts every mile the truck drives, out and back, not just the miles your car is on the deck. Tell us the two zip codes and you get a real number, usually the same day.

Car has to move today

On the road to you within 3 hours. From $599.

A tow truck will hook your car and drag it. That is fine for a daily driver. It is not fine for a car with no brakes, a project with the suspension out, or anything you actually care about.

Ours goes up the mega ramps or comes up on the winch, sits flat on a 30ft deck, and gets strapped by the wheels. Nothing touches the bodywork.

Around Liberty Hill, Cedar Park, Leander, Georgetown and north Austin. Further out we can usually do today or first thing tomorrow.

What every job includes

  • Your car is the only car on the deck. Nothing loaded above it, nothing leaking onto it, and no waiting three weeks while seven other cars are dropped off first.
  • Time-stamped photographs at pickup and at delivery, so there is never an argument about a mark that was already there.
  • Licensed and insured motor carrier. USDOT 4545179, MC-1804329. Certificate of insurance on request.
  • Running or not. Auction, dealer, private sale, project car, classic, golf cart.
  • You talk to the driver. Not a call centre, and not a broker who sells your job on to whoever bids lowest. The person quoting you is the person who shows up.

Terms

  • Under 300 miles with no auction deadline: no deposit, pay on delivery.
  • Auction pickups and anything over 300 miles: 25% to book, balance on delivery.
  • Free cancellation until the truck is dispatched. After that the deposit covers the run-out.
  • Card, Zelle or cash.

Questions we get asked

Why is a broker cheaper?

Because a broker is not moving your car. They are selling the job to a nine-car carrier who will collect it whenever their route suits. That can be the right answer if you are not in a hurry and the car is a runner. If you need a date, or the car does not run, or it is worth more than the fee, it usually is not.

Do you take cars that do not run?

Yes, and it is most of what we do. Tell us whether it rolls, steers and stops, because those three things change how it gets loaded.

Can you collect from Copart or IAA?

Yes. Storage runs $40 to $85 a day in Texas once the three business days are up, so call as soon as you have won the lot rather than on day three.

Is the price on this page the price I pay?

It is the starting price. You get an exact number in writing before anything is booked, and that number does not move.

Tell us what you have and where it is going

You get a real number back, usually the same day. No form to fill in first if you would rather just ring.
